Own who you are

I am asked what inspired me to write 'The Book of the Twelve: The Beginning of Knowledge.' My childhood inspired Jessi. I had a difficult childhood. Yes, I had a mean older sister who liked to torture my brother and me. She lived with us until I was about 3. I was extremely shy and I didn't make friends easily. And then I lost my brother when I was almost 11 years old. As I got older, I didn't get any less weird. I still don't fit in any more than I did when I was a kid. I have come to accept myself more and because I have come to love myself, others have come to accept me more.

The message I want to send out to the world,  especially to young adults, is to accept themselves. It is OK to be different. It is OK to like themselves as they are. You are amazing. As long as you aren't trying to bully or to hurt others, own who you are!
